Project Description
Audiobahn partnered with First UCC Royersford to create a small but powerful sound system for their lower multipurpose room, delivering clear, even audio in a challenging, reverberant space. The system was designed to be simple to use, flexible for everyday ministry, and scaled perfectly for a smaller church environment.
First United Church of Christ in Royersford worked with Audiobahn to transform their lower multipurpose room into a space that supports worship, meetings, and community gatherings with clear, intelligible sound — without overwhelming the room or the volunteers running it. Like many smaller churches, their goal wasn’t “bigger,” but better: clean audio, minimal complexity, and a system that simply works.
The room presented a common challenge for churches of this size: hard surfaces and low ceilings that create excessive reverberation and make speech difficult to understand. Instead of relying on louder speakers, we designed a system that focuses on where sound goes. Using a JBL CBT column array, we were able to control vertical dispersion and keep sound energy directed toward listeners’ ears, creating even coverage from the front row to the back of the room while reducing reflections off the ceiling and walls.
To support everyday ministry needs, we installed reliable wireless microphones for clear speech and added simple Bluetooth connectivity for quick playback from phones or laptops. All system components were consolidated into a single, organized rack to keep operation straightforward and reduce visual clutter. This approach ensures the system is easy to turn on, easy to adjust, and unintimidating for volunteers or staff with limited technical experience.
The result is a thoughtfully scaled audio solution that proves smaller spaces don’t need to compromise on quality. First UCC Royersford now has a clean, intelligible, and easy-to-use sound system that supports their ministry, their community, and their future — without unnecessary complexity or cost.
