Selinsgrove Church of the Nazarene
Audiobahn delivered a full audio overhaul for Selinsgrove Church of the Nazarene, including a new Allen & Heath SQ-5 console, updated digital snake infrastructure, ME-1 personal monitor mixers, new in-ear monitoring, and a complete reorganizing of their stage patching and wireless systems. This multi-phase project brought clarity, flexibility, and long-term reliability to their entire audio workflow.
Selinsgrove Church of the Nazarene partnered with Audiobahn to rebuild and modernize their audio system from the ground up. The project began in an urgent first phase when their digital console failed, and we quickly supplied and installed an Allen & Heath SQ-5 — a compact, powerful, and budget-friendly solution that immediately restored stability to their system. Once their services were back on solid footing, we moved into the second phase: a full-stage infrastructure refresh focused on cleaner patching, better workflow, and a more musician-friendly monitoring setup.
Onstage, we introduced five Allen & Heath ME-1 personal monitor mixers supported by a PoE network switch, giving each band member precise control of their own mix. For the vocalists, we added four channels of Shure PSM-300 wireless in-ear monitors with an antenna combiner and rechargeable battery system to eliminate disposable batteries and simplify weekly use. The church’s existing Sennheiser wireless mics were integrated into the build, and their reliability was enhanced with a new RF Venue Distro4 and Diversity Fin antenna placed at front of house.
To support a clean stage layout, we installed new Ace Backstage floor pockets with custom plates, each fitted with power, XLR, and network. These pockets feed a new backstage rack housing an Allen & Heath AR-2412 digital snake and a fully labeled patch panel, making input changes and troubleshooting simple and intuitive. We also added new microphone stands, cabling, direct boxes, and condenser mics for their drum kit, along with a ClearSonic drum isolation booth for better control in the room. The entire system was organized with proper power conditioning and clear labeling throughout.
A final phase included upgrading and expanding their assistive listening system and adding additional channels to their digital snake as their ministry needs grew. This project is a perfect example that many churches benefit from completing upgrades in stages — and we’re always glad to design solutions that are financially responsible while still meeting immediate and future needs.
